Topaz Economic Magazine is the first monthly magazine in Iran which has designed a specialised Farsi font for its visual identity. For designing this project, legibility and the new form of the letters were important. Due to the presence of digital and smart phones, the project was so complicated. For the purpose of fixing this problem, the structure of the old Thuluth script was used for some parts of the characters such as indentation joints and increasing X’s heights in order to help its legibility and identification. Also, the structure, thickness and circulation of the pen of two Droid Naskh (android) and iPhone fonts were used in the face of Topaz font characters for the familiarity of the magazine readers.
